Another home match on a spinning pitch and young middle order batter Marsh makes way for Livingstone fit whilst all-round spinner Aaron Liley came in for the right arm fast Winters.
Trescothick retired hurt just 30 mins into the match with a nasty fracture from Onions (2-65) and thought Hildreth (102) counter-attacked with help from Trego (70), Somerset stumbled to 331-9d woith the pitch not turning as much as expected, Parkinson's (0-60) leg spin failed to make an impact and Liley (2-48) only accounted for the tail.
In reply, many Lancashire batsmen got starts but failed to capitalise. Croft (57) and Vilas (51) both hit patient half centuries whilst Livingstone top scored with 61 on his return from injury. The red rose did manage to get within 1 run of the Somerset first Innings, at the start of day 3.
Somerset began setting a target well with an opening stand of 56 between Renshaw (30) and Byrom (62) with Trescothick unable to bat. The opening bowlers went wicketless but on an increasingly wearing pitch Liley struck regularly bagging 6-49 supported by Livingstone's leg spin (2-47) with frontline spinner Parkinson again ending wicketless. The last wicket stand for Somerset yielded 56 runs to set Lancashire 206 to win in the remaining 4th day.
The chase went patiently, recovering from the early loss of Hameed, Jennings (60) bedded in at the top of the order but Lancashire lost wickets regularly. Only a patient 50* from Jones off 147 balls halted the slide and Lancashire met the target with an hour to spare, ending on 207-5
