v Durham (OD)

Lancashire were crippled by changes going into this match with England Call ups to the test team for Jennings, Buttler, Parkinson, and Anderson. Lancashire called Hameed, Parry and Clark into the side whilst resting Bohannon and Liley.

Lancashire were put into bat but Hameed (9) fell LBW early on unable to emulate the firm foundation produced last match by Jennings and Davies who was caught at slip for 36 (38) in the 13th over. Brown looked good for his 26 before another good LBW left Lancashire 73-3. Croft went about rebuilding the innings  and struck his 50 off 55 balls despite the cheap loss of Chanderpaul. Livingstone supported with 47 from 58 in a 98 run stand.

With 10 overs to go Lancashire were 214-4 with Croft settling back into keeping the scoreboard ticking over. Big hitter Vilas (32) couldn't capitalise on his license to hit due to some tight bowling from Durham. Croft completed his century in the final over which went for 19to end on 106 (114, 17x4) and take Lancashire to 285-6.

Lancashire plugged away whilst Durham just about kept up with the reasonable rate in the early stages. At 69-4 the spinners were introduced with Croft (1-31) & Parry (3-26) having an immediate impact. Durham didn't really have an answer to pace off the ball, and with no one standing up and taking control they were soon out of the game at 87-7.

Despite a late flurry by McCarthy (22) and Weighell (17) Clark (3-14) returned to mop up the tail inside 29 overs.

Lancashire (285-6) Bt Durham (133) by 152 runs. MOTM
