v Leics (OD)

Lancashire named an unchanged side for their trip to Grace Road and were forced to bowl first on a good pitch. The bowlers stuck to task well as Leicestershire couldn't get the ball away. They kept wickets in hand against the pinpoint accurate Bohannon (0-35) with the dependable Parry (1-37) the only wicket taker for 39 overs in a score of 136-1.

The return of Tom Bailey resulted in three wickets to fall in a single over. First Delport (41) was bowled, Javid chipped tamely to mid off and then Carberry called Pettini (60) through for a single which simply wasn't there. Despite a flurry of boundaries against Mennie (0-67) Clark (4-47) kept up the pressure and restrict the hosts to 221-8.

Despite the early loss yet again of Brown, Lancashire batsmen Jones (50) and Davies negotiated a partnership of 98 during some tight bowling throughout the innings. Alex Marsh impressed for 36 in a partnership with Davies of 59 into the final 5 overs, 26 runs were still required. Lancashire increased the tempo and despite the loss of Davies (82) with 2 overs to go, only 2 runs were required. Livingstone (38*) hit the very next ball to the boundary to break the losing streak and give the Red rose a steady and much needed victory.

Lancashire maintain their position at the top of the table on Net RR.

Lancashire (2pts) BT Leicestershire by 6 wickets MOTM Clark 4-47.
